Why I Love My Job

Why I Love My Job

Posted by Give Fun - Adrian on 16th Aug 2019

Looking back, one of my biggest regret I had is going to be not living my student life to the fullest during my Uni days. But I'm glad I've made some really good friends during my four years undergraduate time in the university. I'm a graduate from the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, yes, it's not any Balloon Academy or Party Styling Faculty (we're self-taught entrepreneur, haha!). Okay let's not digress too much here, one of the good friends I made is my course mates, Shorn, and Sam.

I don't really remember much on what happened during that four years, but the meaningless chats (chats like plans to form a new club in school so that we can be the president and vice president, that kind of thing) we had during lunch between lectures were something I sometimes miss the most.

8 years after graduating, Shorn finally decided it's time to pop the million dollar question to his then girlfriend current wife, Clover. We're excited about it (not sure about him but I'm really excited) and start talking about plans to execute the proposal. So here's some photos of the proposal scene.

Clover likes Brown and Cony, so we've specially made the pair for her. It is an exclusive piece and not available on our site.

When asked about Shorn's requirements or theme of his proposal, he replied "都可以的,美就可以了". I guess this is the most common answer any interior designer will get from their client?

Sometimes we prefer the old school way. XD

Mandatory shot before the popping the question

Clover said yes! Shorn is lucky.

And 8 months later, they're officially Mr and Mrs Ng. I couldn't be much happier, that special feeling of feeling happy for somebody else when it's none of your business, I couldn't explain. You know being one of the best balloon retailer in town (yes it's a self declared title), you've the responsibility to make the venue look awesome (I self declare, again). So here are some of the photos of what we've done on their post ROM party.

Just Married cake topper specially designed for the newly wed

A picture paints a thousand words. Indeed.

We're invited to Shorn's and Clover's post ROM party. Look how excited Jayden (1st from right) and Tyler (3rd from left) were!

I like how our balloons complement the venue. Subtle and not too overwhelming, great for photos.

If we tried a little harder back then, we could have been the President, Vice President and Manager of the Magic Club in NTU. Sam (1st from left), Shorn and I.

9 months after their ROM, they're having a wedding dinner at Shorn's hometown, which happen to be my ideal place for retirement, Ipoh. I'm honoured to be of Shorn's brothers (aka heng dais). Here are some of the highlights.

Ipoh is famous for its White Coffee. We're having our coffee fix at Old Town. Verdict: Ya Kun is still my favorite, Kopi Siu Dai still unbeatable!

Sam & Fatt Keong help prepping for the Organic Balloon Garland. They're engineers in day, balloon stylist at night. LOL

Tadaa! We actually made the garlands in the hotel room on 12 plus midnight, to save us some time on the actual day styling. The Organic Garland can lasts for days (up to weeks!)

The Brothers Troop.

Look how Shorn is indulging in the moment.

We turned the plain backdrop into a captivating photo corner with our signature Organic Balloon Garland with the Giant Personalised Balloon.

From a different angle. We don't provide on-site styling services, but we do exceptions and special arrangements for our best friend, don't we?

Shorn and his papa. Photocopy, yeah?

Thanks Sam and Fatt Keong for your helping hands that day!

Mission accomplished! Time for a photo with Shorn and Clover. Nizz couldn't make it to the wedding because she just given birth to baby Rylan and in her confinement :) Such a beautiful couple.

Back to the days when life is simple. Not that it isn't challenging, it is tough, especially when you couldn't understand most of the lectures. But it's simple.

This was a classic shot, taken by my iPhone 3GS, inside a washroom.  We were young, passionate and full of dreams.

Why I love my job? Because you get to involve, to be part of someone's life events giving fun, seeing the happy smiles, that's what matters, that's what truly matters. I'm glad that I'm given a role to play in Shorn's important occasions, witnessing and be part of his Proposal, ROM and Wedding, already looking forward to Gender Reveal, Baby Shower and 1st birthday parties.
